Touch VPN on Android offers settings that will help you explore its different features. Please go through this article, which describes each setting and where you may find it.
Once you have installed the app on your Android device, please select the Menu Bar icon (left-side top icon) and navigate to Settings.
We have a few categories, so please read on for a brief explanation of what these options mean and how they help protect your privacy.
1. Notify me if I connect to unprotected Wi-Fi
If you enable this option, then Touch VPN will send alerts to you when Wi-Fi network is not secure( public Wi-Fi) and your data is at risk.
2. Pause Touch VPN if phone goes to sleep mode
Whenever your phone is in sleep mode, Traffic will use a normal internet connection if you enable this option.
3. Internet kill switch
Protect yourself even further with this feature enabled. Once toggled on, the VPN will disconnect automatically if there is a loss of internet connection from the device. This prevents data from leaking from the time you were using the VPN. Having this enabled will not allow the internet traffic to run in the background once the VPN disconnects.
4. Select protocol
a. HydraVPN
This is our company-developed protocol. It can only be found with us. This unique protocol is the fastest in the VPN industry and faster than our other protocols. It is the most secure of our protocols, so whenever you have a technical issue, please try changing to Hydra.
b. OpenVPN TCP (Transmission Control Protocol)
TCP is a reliable and connection-oriented protocol commonly used for applications that require error-free data transmission.
OpenVPN TCP encapsulates VPN data within TCP packets, ensuring that data is delivered in the correct order and without errors.
TCP is known for its reliability and ability to handle network congestion and packet loss effectively.
However, TCP's reliability comes at the cost of increased overhead and potentially slower speeds compared to UDP.
c. OpenVPN UDP (User Datagram Protocol):
UDP is a lightweight and connectionless protocol that prioritizes speed and efficiency over reliability.
OpenVPN UDP encapsulates VPN data within UDP packets, which are transmitted without the need for establishing a connection or error checking.
UDP is well-suited for applications that prioritize speed and real-time data transmission, such as online gaming and streaming.
While UDP may offer faster speeds compared to TCP, it can be more susceptible to packet loss and may not be as reliable in congested or unreliable network environments.
In Touch VPN, users typically have the option to choose between OpenVPN TCP and OpenVPN UDP protocols when establishing a VPN connection. The choice between TCP and UDP depends on factors such as network conditions, desired speed, and application requirements. Users may experiment with both protocols to determine which one provides the best balance of speed, reliability, and performance for their specific needs.
d. Wireguard
This protocol has been designed for ease of use. While it is not entirely recommended, it is a faster protocol with a lower chance of being compromised compared to other protocols.
5. Dark theme
If you want to change your Touch VPN theme (from light to dark), this is the option for you. Enable Dark Side of Touch VPN and enjoy all online activities with your style.
